It is both an honour and a privilege to serve as the President of the Nepal New Zealand Friendship Society of Canterbury (NNZFSC). On behalf of our Executive Committee, I warmly welcome you to our community.

Established in 2002, NNZFSC has grown into a trusted and vibrant platform that celebrates Nepali identity while strengthening connections within Aotearoa New Zealand. As we move forward, we remain committed to fostering a sense of belonging, cultural pride, and unity among all members of our community.

We are dedicated to creating a strong support network where members can connect, share, and uplift each other in areas of common interest.

Through cultural programmes, sports, and community events, we bring people together , encouraging participation, collaboration, and a shared sense of identity.

We take pride in safeguarding and promoting the Nepali language, traditions, and cultural values for current and future generations in New Zealand.

We actively engage with diverse communities across Canterbury to promote intercultural understanding, respect, and partnership.

Welcoming and Supporting Newcomers
We recognise the journey of new migrants and are committed to supporting their settlement through guidance, connection, and community care.

What We Do

Our work comes to life through a wide range of initiatives designed to engage, support, and inspire:

  • Cultural Events & Celebrations
    Showcasing the richness of Nepali culture while creating opportunities for connection and shared experiences.
  • Sports & Community Activities
    Regular programmes includes football, badminton, cricket, swimming, Zumba and wellness activities that promote health and unity.
  • Language & Cultural Education
    Nepali language and cultural classes for children to help preserve identity and heritage.
  • Community Voice & Media
    Through our radio programme Namaste Nepal and annual Namaste Magazine, we continue to share stories, voices, and experiences from within our community.
